
At GADISA Retail we place social welfare at the heart of our business model and our Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy.
We collaborate with NGOs and associations to ensure that we have a positive impact on the local area. In 2024, we supported a number of initiatives for vulnerable members of society. These include collaborations with organisations such as UNICEF, the Spanish Association Against Cancer and the Food Banks of Galicia and Castile and Leon.

We focus on promoting a healthier lifestyle among the population at the 4th edition of the GADIS Forum with NGOs. The purpose is to promote joint action between companies and associations to provide a comprehensive response to society. We have once again brought together 200 representatives from organisations in Galicia and Castilla y León with whom we collaborate and who work in the fields of health, sport, education and integration. The forum was held at the headquarters of CEIDA (Centre for University Extension and Environmental Outreach of Galicia).

Our GADIS clientele has made a monetary donation of 14,507 euros to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC). This fundraising effort is the result of the charity campaign "The Purchase of Your Life” ("La Compra de tu Vida”), which was carried out in all the company‘s sales outlets in Galicia and Castilla y León. This aid was allocated to research and to supporting people who have been diagnosed.

Thanks to UNICEF‘s Blue Gift, GADISA Retail in 2024 has been committed to supporting the most vulnerable children. We sent 4,025 survival kits, containing 12,075 polio vaccines, therapeutic food sachets and over 2.11 million water purification tablets, aiming to protect the health of thousands of children affected by armed conflicts, natural disasters or the lack of resources in developing countries.

The 6th "Feed Friendship" (‘Alimenta la Amistad’) campaign set a record for the distribution of 80,727 kilos of food and hygiene products among 72 animal shelters and sanctuaries in Galicia and Castilla y León. This solidarity initiative reflects GADIS’s and its customers’ commitment to animal welfare.

12th edition "Solidarity May"
In 2024 we managed to collect over 150,000 kilos of food. An edition in which we have increased our own contribution to 30,000 kilos to meet the current needs of food banks. We must add the €49,873 donated by our customers from 2 May to 1 June at various points of sale in both autonomous communities.
The Great Collection
Thanks to the solidarity of our customers and the efforts of our teams, we managed to raise over €96,000 and collect 233,000 kilos of food in 2024. This initiative, in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL), has been carried out for a decade in our GADIS supermarkets.
OTHER INITIATIVES
Support to Aspace Coruña
We have signed an agreement with ASPACE to support the innovative textured food project developed by the association, which enables improvements in the diet of people with dysphagia (difficulty swallowing drinks and/or food). The initiative is a tool that creates a wide variety of healthy, safe and appetising dishes of high nutritional value.
Social integration project “Bosque GADIS”.
A social integration and biodiversity conservation project carried out in collaboration with Amicos. Workers from the organisation’s Ecobrigades have planted 300 birch trees to naturally regenerate a plot in the municipality of Curtis with native Galician species.
Cooking workshops for older people
We joined Grupo Nove, FAMYC and Afundación to participate in the workshops held in 8 Galician cities. Under the title "Cociña +60." "Receitas de vida” (‘Life Recipes’), these workshops featured chefs from Grupo Nove, who collectively hold 14 Michelin stars and 28 Repsol suns. Over 200 older people participated in these activities.

We work alongside government bodies, third-sector partners, sport and cultural bodies, and a wide range of organizations specializing in their sphere of activity to foster a more prosperous, socially conscious and diverse society. At GADISA Retail, we want to be part of the community and we actively participate in all the relevant events happening around us. This includes supporting charity, cultural and sporting activities. We also promote local development and institutional collaboration.
